Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
Mash the ripe bananas in a large bowl until smooth.
Mix in melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir.
Add flour and mix until just combined. Don't overmix!
Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
Bake for 60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire rack.
